The purpose of WatchmanClocks.com is to sell guard tour verification systems.
Someone has to do it. There are many brands of watchman clocks also called security
guard clocks, including Amano, CoGard, Detex, GuardQuest, and Lathem.
Lathem is currently out of the market, they may return again. The devices
we offer on this site will not include all known brands. Just the ones we know that
are the best, based on personal testing and end user feedback.
These are the best patrol clocks made.
We also reject some systems if they cannot match our criteria:
- Liberal Guarantee - do they give you the benefit of the doubt? It must have
a one year warranty. Solid construction - will it take abuse (which we know
they will get).
- Easy to Use - You have enough to do without becoming a computer scientist to run
this tool.
- That leads us to patrol clock software. If the software is inadequate, then
we won't post it on our website.
- If the support team cops an attitude, we won't sell their equipment either.
By looking out for you, we end up looking out for ourselves. This policy has
worked for us for ages; it comes from good parents and business mentors.
- Company reputation. We won't sell start-ups or bleeding edge equipment.
New ideas come and go every year. Everyone calls us, wanting us to sell their
equipment. We wait and see who survives a few years, then we invest in the
mature version of their watchman equipment.
I don’t know of anyone who is truly and “expert” or “master” in the watchman clock
industry, but I can tell you that if you do business with us, we will treat you
with respect, ask you questions to help guide your decision, and we will not make
promises that we cannot keep. At the end of the day, you have to live with the purchase,

A brief discussion of watchman clocks: Watchman clocks have been around since the
1800’s. Detex was one of the first, Isgus was another. It seems that this idea may
have come from Germany, watchmanclocks.org has quite a history of these machines
on its website. Ground security, watchman’s clocks, will be around for many years
to come. We are finding them in zoo’s, nursing homes, all major resorts and hotels,
schools, school systems, military bases, malls, private security firms, municipal
dumps, athletic fields, and much, much more. The Amano PR600 and the Detex Newman
and Guardsman are nearly indestructible mechanical watchman clocks. We have keys,
key stations, station boxes, replacement cases, and report tapes for these, and
normally in stock.
Guard tour verification systems are in their 4th generation, and they pack a punch
when it comes to giving you detailed information about the patrol. Excel spread
sheets, standard reports, and the ability to build long range reports. It’s quite
amazing. Homeland Security is now ordering this equipment, and most of it works,
I kid you not, UNDER WATER. GuardQuest (made in South America), is waterproof. The
Detex ProxiPen is also waterproof. The big change has been the leap in durability,
and the software is now much easier to configure. Detex offers lifetime software
